The trout fishing on Pepacton has been better than average this August. Trolling spoons and plugs has been generally better than bait fishing but some good fish have been caught by either. The East Branch is still fishing well as evidenced by the trout caught by Phil Odell who said they were biting like crazy [...]

Pepacton is still producing some of the biggest trout of the year. Most times they are around 35 ft down. Smallmouth bass are also biting well from shore or boat. The East Bra nch is getting a steady flow of cold water from Pepacton and should fish well into fall. Best to go early before [...]

The fishing on Pepacton Reservoir is really heating up and several trout over 5 pounds have been weighed in over the past two weeks. Some of the storms have sent them deep for a while but generally they are between the surface and 35 feet. Occasionally they may be deeper and at times there is [...]

The water in Pepacton is starting to warm and the fishing is starting to pick up. Most of the catches are between 15-30 feet although it can still vary quite a bit as the temps aren’t much different from 30 feet down. Warmer surface temperatures in May will bring the bait and the trout to [...]

Pepacton is still cold and a bit cloudy after the recent rains but some spotty catches are being reported. The trout seem to be moving closer to the surface at times although the shore fishing is still as good or better than in a boat. Trout and bass are being caught in the mouths of [...]

The ice on Pepacton and Cannonsville Reservoirs is almost completely gone with just a few coves still seeing some ice. The shore fishing is getting good with a few good reports in the last couple days. So far spoons like the Krodcodile and Kastmaster are working best. The East Branch has been producing some very [...]

On the fishing side the smallmouth bass season is kicking into high gear as they move into shallower water with the cooler temps. Several good catches have been reported by anglers using stick baits, spinner baits, rubber lures or live crayfish. The smallmouth fishing should remain excellent through most of November.

Most of them are still just offshore and are being taken on spoons spinners or jigs and live bait like shiners and crayfish. Reservoir fishing has been somewhat sporadic. Just starting to get some heavier fish this week. Most of the trout are between 30-35 ft deep. No time of the day has been better than any other. Canoeing in the E. Branch has been good with a steady release of cold water coming from Pepacton. Fly fishing [...]
