Report from the Pepacton – August 24

Pepacton fishing report: With the cooler temps the smallmouth bass fishing is really starting to heat up. Most of them are still just offshore and are being taken on spoons spinners or jigs and live bait like shiners and crayfish.

Trout fishing has slowed down some but really good fishing has been reported by trollers slow trolling using flutter spoons or fast trolling with krocodile spoons.

The East Branch has had a steady release from Pepacton all summer and fly fishermen have reported good hatches of blue wing olives, sulphurs and morning tricos. Bait fishing with mealworms has been productive also.
