This Brown Trout was caught in the Pepacton on 5/18/10. It is 32″ and weighs 12lb. 13oz. Caught drifting live bait by Larry Kennedy from Doylestown, PA.
The fishing action is starting to heat up with warmer water temps. In Pepacton and Cannonsville Reservoirs most of the trout are moving out of the deeper water and are quite active from the surface down to 30 ft. Casting spoons from shore is still producing some good fish.
The East Branch is in great condition and some really great trout have been caught on lures and bait.
Fly hatches have been good and water levels are very wadable.
The canoeing season is underway and water releases on the East Branch will increase gradually on May 20th and June 1st. They should remain constant throughout the summer.
Recreation boating on Cannonsville starts up Memorial day weekend. Remember, Al’s is an official steam cleaning station for all recreation boaters going there.
We also issue NYS fishing licenses and can print NYC reservoir access permits right from the store!
